Rules & Policies

Clear standards make better racing.

Review the essential participation, conduct, cancellation and weather policies before reserving your session.

Driver requirements

  • Every participant under 19 requires a parent or guardian waiver.
  • Drivers ages 8–12 must complete Rookie Racer before public main-circuit karting.
  • Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
  • The public-rental weight limit is 260 lb / 116 kg, subject to a safe seat fitting.
  • Drivers must disclose any condition that could affect safe kart operation to the Head Marshal.
  • Alcohol, drugs, abusive conduct and unsafe behaviour are not permitted.

Arrive + Drive track rules

  • No contact with other karts, barriers or trackside objects.
  • No intentional spinning or drifting.
  • Keep all tires on the paved racing surface.
  • Follow flag, light and marshal instructions immediately.
  • Unsportsmanlike or dangerous behaviour may result in a penalty or disqualification.
  • The RaceSafety control system may be used to slow or stop karts.

Weather and facility closures

Kartplex does not operate public or private rental programs when the circuit is wet or conditions are unsafe. This includes rain, snow, extreme heat, smoke, wildfire conditions, power interruption or travel restrictions. The acting Head Marshal has final authority over safety-related suspensions.

When Kartplex cancels for weather or another condition outside its control, the amount paid is issued as a non-expiring credit for future use rather than a cash refund.

Private-kart essentials

Owner karts must pass technical inspection and comply with the 95 dB at 50 m noise limit. Drivers require approved karting safety equipment. Drivers under 16 require approved neck protection; drivers under 13 also require approved chest protection. Contact Kartplex before arriving to confirm the full current equipment standard and practice reservation.

Operational authority: The Head Marshal’s direction on site takes precedence whenever immediate safety requires it.
